Roberta L. Lanterman

Chester resident Roberta Lucille Lanterman peacefully passed from this life to her eternal home with her Savior Thursday morning March 8th, 2007 at Seneca District Hospital located in Chester, CA. following a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving family was at her side. Born seventy two years ago in San Francisco, California to the late Clifford and Mildred (Lee) Cory on January 5th, 1935, she was raised and educated in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her natural beauty was manifested through her employment as a model following high school. Along with her mother while taking her lunch to her father she was introduced to a handsome young fellow railroad worker named Gary Lanterman. Their love quickly blossomed and the two were united in matrimony in Los Altos, California on July 14th, 1956. To this union three loving daughters were born. The young family relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to Davis where Roberta resided for nineteen years prior to moving to the Northeastern California community of Chester in December of 1991. Roberta was a devoted Christian who along with her husband were members of the Chester Wesleyan Church. Here she enjoyed singing in the choir and taught Junior Church. Other than her family her passion in life was crafts. She was an avid gardener who was blessed with a 'green thumb' and was a longtime member of the former Chester Garden Club. While her children were growing up she was actively involved as both a 4H Leader and Girl Scout Leader. Roberta had a special place in her heart for both children and animals while also enjoying the outdoors fishing and traveling throughout the country in their RV. Roberta leaves in passing her dear husband with whom she just celebrated her golden anniversary with; Gary of Chester, CA, her three loving daughters; Nancy Sirman of Cool, CA, Lorie Brooks of Chico, CA and Jennifer Odom of Chester, CA, her precious grandchildren; Sara Bumpus, Jesse Sirman, Joey Odom and Eric Brooks. Along with her parents she joins in her eternal home her one brother and one sister. Private family interment services will be held in the Chester District Cemetery. A celebration of Roberta's life will take place Saturday 11:00AM, April 14th, 2007 at her beloved Chester Wesleyan Church.
