Roberta Litvinoff Obituary

Roberta Litvinoff
Roberta Litvinoff of Milford and North Branford, CT, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. She was 89 years old. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur "Buddy" Litvinoff, and her parents, Gerald and Mary Hoffman.
Roberta is survived by her beloved children, Marc and Sharon Litvinoff of Seattle, WA; Leonard and Laura Litvinoff of Milford, CT; and David Litvinoff of Milford, CT. Grandchildren: Adam Litvinoff (Mae), Eric Litvinoff (Anna), Kaitlyn Robinson (Chris), Zachary Litvinoff, Sarah Litvinoff (Clarke DiBella), and Joshua Litvinoff (Shamar). Great-grandchildren: Sophia, Tyler, Owen, Hailey, Salvatore, and Flynn. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Janice Hoffman; sister-in-law Zoe Litvinoff; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Roberta was born in the Bronx, NY. She was a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and Hunter College. After college, she was a business trainee at Abraham & Strauss department store in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to starting her position, she traveled to Columbus, GA, to visit cousins and was introduced by her sorority sister to Buddy (who was from the Bronx but stationed at Fort Benning).
In 1973, Roberta pursued a career in social work. Initially, she managed the outpatient clinic at the Bridgeport Mental Health Facility for the State of Connecticut. In 1978, she moved to the Department of Protective Services for the Elderly in New Haven. This was a seminal moment as she spent the rest of her professional career helping and protecting the elderly, both through her State of CT position and later in private practice as a conservator. During her career, she served as the CT representative to the National Alzheimer's Association and was also on the Governor's Task Force on Alzheimer's.
Throughout her life, Roberta was active at Temple B'nai Shalom in Milford and Congregation Or Shalom in Orange after the two merged.
Roberta and Buddy enjoyed traveling to new places with close friends. Their travels took them across the US and to dozens of countries worldwide.
Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family above all else.
Roberta and Buddy raised their family in Milford, CT, and lived there until they retired to Evergreen Woods in North Branford, CT.
The family wishes to thank the devoted staff at Evergreen Woods for their unsurpassed care and support, especially during Roberta's final days.
Relatives and Friends are welcome to join the family on Monday Jan. 19th at noon for a celebration of Roberta's life at Congregation Or Shalom, 205 Old Grassy Hill Rd., Orange, The Robert E. I have such fond memories of going to Roberta and Buddy´s house growing up for big, epic Passover Seders-some of my favorite holiday gatherings. I´m sorry for this loss, and send love to all the Litvinoffs and family.
