Roberta Pecsi, 78, of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Alexis, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Hospice of the Valley Thunderbird PCU, Glendale, AZ.
She was born on October 7, 1945 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Richard and Ines (Sims) Halsted. She was raised and educated in Aledo, IL and graduated from Aledo High School in 1962. She later graduated from Carl Sandburg College in 1982 earning her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Roberta married Frank “Tom” Stevens. She later married William “Bill” Pecsi on June 1, 1985 in Alexis, IL; he survives.
Roberta worked as an LPN at Hospice of the Valley from 1986 until her retirement in 2014. She enjoyed baking, reading, and coloring. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving Roberta is her husband of 38 years, Bill Pecsi of Sun City, AZ; her children, Corinna (David) Friday of Peoria, AZ, Richard “Rick” (Chris) Stevens of Monmouth, IL; her grandchildren, Drake (Ashley Hamilton) Stevens of Champaign, IL, Delaney (Colton Losey) Stevens of Monmouth, IL, Darrah Stevens of Monmouth, IL, Dannica Stevens of Monmouth, IL; and step-grandchildren, Sarah (David) Braun of Surprise, AZ, and Christopher Friday of Surprise, AZ. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Halsted & Ines (Richard) Swanson; and sister, Maxine Fuhr.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to Hospice of the Valley and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the local arrangements.
