Robin Asbury Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewer & Sons Funeral Home - Clermont Chapel on Feb. 14, 2026.
Robin Lynn Asbury, 71, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Born in Fairmont, West Virginia, Robin lived a life defined by purpose, curiosity, compassion, and an unwavering sense of justice.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Moore; her mother, Isabell Brandon; and her stepmother, Nancy Ice Moore.

Robin leaves behind her beloved husband of 47 years, Darrell Asbury of Morgantown, West Virginia; her children, John Killmeyer (Madison) of Clermont, Florida, and Kelley Asbury of Charleston, South Carolina; her cherished cat, Mazzie; her sister, Tracy Riffle (Chuck); her brothers, Kevin Moore (Kelley) and Kerry Moore (Susie); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved very deeply.

One of Robin's proudest accomplishments was earning her Doctorate of Education, the culmination of a lifelong career in adult education. She was a gifted writer, a thoughtful teacher, and a lifelong advocate for learning, always encouraging others to grow, question, and find their voice.

Robin was a breast cancer survivor, a testament to her extraordinary strength, resilience, and determination. She faced that chapter of her life with courage and resolve, emerging not only as a survivor but as a fierce advocate for others, offering strength, empathy, and encouragement to those walking a similar path.

Never afraid to speak her mind, Robin was known for her quick wit and strong moral compass. She approached life with conviction and compassion, standing firmly for what she believed was right.

Robin had a special love for flamingos, which never failed to make her smile. She found joy in long walks by the lake, tending her garden no matter what it yielded, working in her wood shop, crafting, writing, and preparing a truly good meal. She was a great cook, an avid traveler with her husband, and happiest at the beach. No beach trip ever went uncounted, as she faithfully created a countdown to the next visit upon returning from the last.

In retirement, Robin embraced life fully, spending winters in Florida, volunteering at New Beginnings in Clermont, and attending annual festivals at Disney World's EPCOT, especially the Food and Wine Festival. She valued experiences that brought people together and lived through joy, creativity, and compassion.

Somewhere now, she has joined the flamboyance in the sky, a fitting place for someone who lived boldly, loved deeply, and left an unmistakable mark on the world.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local food bank or that you honor Robin's legacy by volunteering with a local nonprofit.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Brewer and Sons Funeral Home for the exceptional care, compassion, and dignity shown to Robin and her loved ones during this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked at RESA several years ago with Robin. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. Like her obituary said, she always fought for the underdog. She was such a compassionate person. And after her breast cancer, she lived life to the fullest. She leaves a great legacy. Prayers for all of her loved ones.
