Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center on Nov. 12, 2025.
Robin Louise Dew, age 75, of Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness.
She was born on March 28, 1950, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Hugh and Leah (Hedges) Rodman. Robin graduated from Buckeye Valley High School in 1968 and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Kent State University in 1972.
Robin's life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and music. For 24 years, she served as a beloved music teacher in the Elgin School District, teaching at both West and South Elementary Schools for a total of 30 years at Elgin. Each year she wrote, directed, and accompanied the elementary Christmas programs-an annual highlight that touched generations of students and families. Beyond the classroom, Robin shared her musical talents as the piano accompanist for the Elgin Energizers and the Marion Rainbow Singers.
A devoted church musician, she served as a music director for Radnor Baptist Church and shared her gifts on both piano and organ for Christ the King Church, Radnor Baptist Church, and throughout the community at countless services and gatherings. Her wide vocal range and beautiful voice, as described by her family, were gifts she shared generously.
In 1981, Robin's sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Bumpy Rhoades, introduced her to Tom Dew-a meeting that blossomed into 44 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised their cherished daughter, Diana, and later found joy in welcoming their son-in-law, Marc Gaskell-also thanks to Ruth Ann and Bumpy's matchmaking.
Robin was a member of Vessel Community Church and was deeply devoted to her Bible Study Fellowship group. She was quick with a joke, eager for laughter, and known for her determined, spirited nature. Those who knew her best will remember her as loyal, uplifting, and full of joy-a true champion for the people she loved.
Affectionately known as GiGi, Robin adored her grandchildren, Reid and Ella, and took immense pride in her family-her daughter and her treasured husband.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband Tom, daughter Diana (Marc) Gaskell, grandchildren Reid and Ella, sister Ruth Ann Rhoades (Bumpy), and brothers John (Susan) Rodman, George (Lori) Rodman, and Jim (Mary) Rodman, all of Delaware County, sister in law Cathy Lucin of Columbus, along with nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Lori Rodman, and brother-in-law, Bumpy Rhoades.
