The country girl has left the place she loved most. After 39 years in
Gillett, PA, Robin A. Fields, 63, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Robin Ann was born on May 9, 1962, in
Horseheads, NY, the daughter of the late Homer and Hazel (Stout) Foster. She attended Southside High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1980. On June 25, 1994, she married the love of her life, Jack Fields, and together they shared 21 years of marriage until his passing in 2015. Robin worked for many years as a devoted home health aide, a role she cherished until her health no longer allowed her to continue.
A true country soul, Robin grew up on a farm in Horseheads until the passing of her father when she was just 11. She and her mother later moved to Southport, but as soon as she was able, Robin returned to the quiet countryside of Gillett. She often said she preferred wildlife over traffic any day. Her deep love for animals was evident to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her canine companions-Lady, Pee Wee, and Baby-and her feline friends-Hazel, Toby, and Rainey. They were her babies, and she adored them.
Robin was known for her sweet, caring nature and her willingness to help anyone in need. She found joy in caring for others, especially Jim and Irene, whom she held close to her heart. Robin will be missed by all who knew her.
In her own words, Robin wrote: "Goodbye world. I am going to a better place where there is no pain or heartache, only peace, except for my babies. They will be lonely. I am sorry my babies."
Robin is survived by her sister, Rose Seymour, sister-in-law; Diane Foster, nephew; Colin Foster and by many special friends: Stephanie Singerhoff-her first nurse-James Campbell, Irene Grenier, Bonnie and George McCaslin, Kim, Mike and Michelle VanOrder, and Howie and Kim Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; her sister, Ruth; and her brother, Roger.
Honoring Robin's wishes, there will be no services. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
