Robin Helmig

Robin Renee Helmig, 67, of Otterville, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 31, 1957, in Sedalia, the daughter of Arthur Benton and Melba Lee (Cave) Edwards.

Robin was known for her big heart and strong spirit. She had a passion for horses and animals, and she especially enjoyed being at home or outside working in her yard. Robin loved her family and community-always willing to lend a hand or open her door to others. She was a devoted mother, a wonderful cook, and kept an immaculate home.

She lived in several places throughout her life. No matter where she was, Robin enjoyed meeting new people and spending time with them.

As a child, she was active in Theta Rho, participating in parades alongside her mother, who served as the group's director. She was a member of the Otterville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by Dale Helmig; two sons, Brad Helmig and Matt Helmig (Jessica), all of Otterville; six grandchildren, Lauren Knuth (McKenzie), Weston Helmig, Megan Helmig (Lee Baker), Carlie Helmig, Nathan Helmig, and Evan Helmig; and one great-granddaughter, Anniston Knuth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jake Helmig; and her brother, Terry Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Otterville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the church.

Pallbearers will be McKenzie Knuth, Lee Baker, Jason Watson, Jay Cave, Chris Thomas, and Logan Stone.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Cave and Ronnie Dowdy.

Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville.
