Robin LaChapelle

Ishpeming – Robin A. LaChapelle, age 58, entered eternal life on August 26, 2025, at UP Health System–Marquette, surrounded by the love of her family and the compassionate care of the hospital staff, following an eight-month battle with cancer.

Robin was born on April 18, 1967, in Owosso, Michigan, the daughter of the late Walter and Kay (Kurtz) Praski. She grew up in New Lothrop, Michigan, before eventually making her home in the Upper Peninsula, where she lovingly raised her family. Robin dedicated many years of service as a Direct Care Worker with Adult Learning Systems, where her kindness and devotion touched the lives of many.

A free spirit at heart, Robin lived and breathed the music of the Grateful Dead, following the band with passion during her younger years. She found joy in flower gardening, photographing birds-especially eagles-and could often be found dancing to the music she loved. Her zest for life, creativity, and deep appreciation for beauty in the world will long be remembered.

Robin is survived by her devoted husband of 31 happy years, Michael LaChapelle; her cherished daughters, Emily (Brad) LaChapelle-Mumm and Willow LaChapelle; her brothers, Pat (Kim) Praski and Mike (Susan) Praski; her sister, Jill White; her mother-in-law, Colleen LaChapelle; and her dear friend, Carolann Woodruff. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, along with her loving dog, Teddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Kay Praski.

A celebration of Robin's life will be held at the home of Robin and Mike beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
