Robin S. Lankford, 69, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Monday, July 21, 2025, at her home. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with Rev. John Elkin officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at North Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Robin was born February 24, 1956, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Robert and Helen J. (Sorenson) Evans. She attended Fort Dodge School and continued her education at Iowa Central Community College. On July 3, 1980, she was united in marriage to Danny Lankford in Fort Dodge. She worked at Fort Dodge Health & Rehab for years. Throughout her life, Robin had varied interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an avid reader and enjoyed casino trips. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family - especially Canasta and Tripoley. Cooking and crocheting were other passions of hers. Robin delighted in watching Harry Potter marathons, immersing herself in the magical world. She had a profound love for wolves and Native American artwork, appreciating the beauty and significance of these elements in her home. Above all, Robin adored her grandchildren, who were the center of her universe. Her love for them knew no bounds.
Robin is survived by her husband of 45 years: Danny Lankford of Fort Dodge; 1 son: Lucas Lankford of Iowa City, IA and his two children; and 1 daughter: Jesse Scherff and husband Corey of Fort Dodge and their two children: Lakota and Aubriella; 10 siblings: Dale Klepinger of California, Le-An Hinkle of Texas, Kimberly Evans of Fort Dodge, Jerry Evans of Arizona, Chip Evans and wife Alicia of Sheffield, IA, Billy Evans and wife Barbara of Fort Dodge, Sheila Evans and husband Mick of Fort Dodge, Eddie Pommering of Coalville, IA, Joi Ingman of McIntosh, MN and Randy Fetters of Des Moines, IA; mother-in-law: Donna Lankford of Sac City, IA; sisters and brother-in-law: Sharon Potts and husband Robin Foote of Fort Dodge, Linda Lankford of Story City, IA and Bob Gibbs of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings: Terry Evans, Jody Evans, Darrell Evans and Mary Gemmel; father-in-law: Glen Lankford; 2 brothers-in-law: Mike Lankford and Steve Lankford; and sister-in-law: Christy Lankford.
