Robin Renee Nelson, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2024, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, at the age of 61. Born on March 11, 1963, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to John and Mary Ann (Henson) Whisenhunt. Robin's early years were spent in Checotah, Oklahoma, where she received her education and formed lifelong friendships that she treasured throughout her life. She met the love of her life, Brian Keith Nelson, and they were united in marriage on March 5, 1981. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their two children. Those who knew Robin will remember her for her generous spirit and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a collector at heart, with an eye for the unique and the beautiful, and she loved to share her finds with those around her. Above all, Robin's greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her grandchildren, Deanna Taylor and Ella Nevaeh Rice, and her great-grandson, Zander Loyd. Her legacy of love and family will live on through them. Robin's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Whisenhunt and Mary Ann Whisenhunt-Bell, her brothers, Scott and Jack Whisenhunt Jr., and her sister, Gayle Whisenhunt.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband, Brian, her loving children, Kasidy Taylor and Kimberly Rice, her sister, Barbara Grider, her adored grandchildren, great-grandson, and a circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Throughout her life, Robin was a beacon of light and comfort to those around her. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit remains a guiding force, inspiring us to live with the same compassion and grace that she embodied every day.
As we bid farewell to Robin Renee Nelson, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the beautiful life she led. Her impact on our lives is immeasurable, and her memory will be treasured forever. We take solace in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with her beloved family members who have gone before her, and that her love continues to surround us, as enduring as the precious collections she so lovingly curated over the years. Robin's life was a journey of love, laughter, and cherished memories. As we honor her legacy, we are reminded to embrace the moments we have with one another, to live with purpose and joy, and to cherish the bonds of family and friendship that make life so rich and meaningful. Robin's story is one of a life well-lived, and her memory will be celebrated for generations to come.
