Roby Garland Kidd, Jr., 82, passed away on March 12, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1940, in Bennett, North Carolina, where he spent much of his youth.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Thurman; sons, Tony Kidd, of Asheboro, NC, Scott Kidd and wife, Molita, of Asheboro, NC and Rodney Kidd and wife, Amy, of Carolina Beach, NC; grandchildren, Faith, Isaac, and Elijah; and his special dog, April. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Brady and husband, Gurney, and brother, Bill Kidd and wife, LuAnn, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
Roby lived in Asheboro for many years, where he owned and operated Kidd Electric. He was a talented musician who loved to sing and play guitar. He was a long-standing member of Beulah Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Monday, March 20 at Beulah Baptist Church in Bennett with Rev. Neal Jackson and Rev. Roby Scott Kidd officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 2:00-2:45 prior to the service. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Beulah Baptist Church's New gymnasium building fund, 8454 Howard Mill Rd., Bennett, NC 27208.
