MOUNT PLEASANT- Robyn Ann Bowling, 64, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at her home in rural Mount Pleasant, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 6, 1960, in Mount Pleasant, Robyn was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy(Orr) Burns. She completed her high school education at Mount Pleasant High School in 1978 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Iowa in 1982. Furthering her education, Robyn received her Master’s in Education from Sam Houston State University.

On June 26, 1999, she married Ted Bowling in Lewisville, Texas. Robyn dedicated 28 years to education, serving as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal. For 14 of those years, she was the beloved principal of John Haley Elementary in Irving, Texas, where she touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and families with her leadership and compassion. After retiring in 2010, she returned to Mount Pleasant, where her passion for gardening and artistry shone through in her love for painting pavers, which she sold at local farmers' markets.

Robyn is survived by her husband, Ted, of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Miranda Madden of Dallas, Texas, and April (Noah) Dendy of Denton, Texas; two grandchildren, William and Emma Dendy; and a sister, Fredine Purvis of Silvis, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Savely.
