Robyn Murray 1973–2025
Robyn Murray passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at 9:04 p.m. at the hospital after complications from a serious medical emergency. She was 52 years old.
Robyn was born on May 4, 1973, at Cottonwood Hospital in
Murray, Utah. She arrived about a month early and weighed just over four pounds. Soon after her birth, her mother, Kathie Fassman, learned that Robyn had Down Syndrome. From that moment forward, Kathie dedicated herself to giving Robyn every possible chance to grow, learn, and thrive. Through steady support and early intervention, Robyn learned to speak, read, write, and use American Sign Language. She became a bright, capable, and confident individual who surprised and impressed everyone who knew her.
Robyn was the second oldest child in her family. She is loved by her brothers Robert Murray, Ryan Murray, Matthew Murray, and Joshua Fassman. She is also cherished by her mother Kathie Fassman, her stepmother Susan Murray, her stepbrother Jory Wantalok, and her stepsister Wendy Payne. She is preceded in death by her father, Owen Robert Murray, her stepfather, Zachary Fassman, her stepsister, Joelle Hurns, and nephew Nolan Murray.
Though small in stature, Robyn lived with a big, vibrant heart. She had an outgoing nature and a joyful spirit. She loved to make people laugh and often found her way to the center of any gathering. She proudly showed off her cartwheels and gymnastic tricks and was known to offer warm hugs to friends and strangers alike. She lived life on her own terms. Her fantasy world, where imagination shaped her days, often brought her pure joy and comfort.
Music was a constant source of excitement for Robyn. She adored Michael Jackson and often wore a single white glove in his honor. She loved the music of Van Halen, Journey, and AC DC. One of her favorite memories was meeting Sammy Hagar in Laughlin, Nevada. Robyn was also a regular karaoke participant where she shined with enthusiasm.
Robyn was active in Special Olympics as a child and enjoyed many years attending Civitan, a day program for people with developmental disabilities. She treasured her friends there and the social life it provided. She attended several dances, including her prom, where she felt celebrated and included.
Above all, Robyn was deeply loved by her family. She brought joy, humor, and light everywhere she went. Her gentle innocence and loving nature made her unforgettable. Her family finds comfort in the belief that she has returned to her Savior, Jesus Christ, and into the embrace of loved ones who have gone before her.
Robyn's life was a gift. She overcame challenges with courage and grace, and she touched every heart around her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
