Rocco D. “Rocky” Colavito, 91, of Bern Township, passed away Tuesday, December 10th in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Rocco is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Carmen L. (Perrotti) Colavito.
Additional survivors include three children, Rocco D. Colavito, Jr. and wife Barbara, Marisa McGrath and husband Joe, and Steven J. Colavito and wife Kelly.
There are five grandchildren, Violet and Angelina Colavito, Shannon Henderson and husband John, Megan Bermudez and husband Michael, and Gina Colavito.
Also, two great grandchildren, Vincenzo Bermudez and Gannon Botwright.
Rocco is predeceased by his parents, Rocco D. Colavito and Angelina (Spudafino) Colavito and his siblings, Clara, Ann, Vito, and Domenic.
Rocco was an American professional baseball player, coach, and television sports commentator. He played in Major League Baseball as an outfielder from 1955 until 1968, most prominently as a member of the Cleveland Indians.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church.
He was an avid hunter.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, December 18th from 6 PM until 8 PM in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple, PA 19560.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605 (Hyde Park) on Thursday, December 19th at 11 AM with Reverend Thomas P. Bortz as celebrant.
Interment will follow the mass in Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605.
The Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home in Temple is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
