Born in Chelsea and raised in East Boston, Rocky graduated from East Boston High School, where he met the love of his life, Katy (Viarella) Freni, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage with and raised their children in Medford. A skilled contractor by trade, Rocky spent many years working in the garment industry, contributing his talents to his companies, Kneeland Skirt and Boston Sportswear. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took great pride in being a dependable provider for his family.
Rocky was a simple, quiet man who loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed sitting out in the sun and spending time at the beach, where he could easily get a tan. Rocky loved music and was a talented drummer, playing in many bands throughout his life, he had a deep love and appreciation for big band and jazz music specifically. In his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball and boxing.
Rocky will be dearly missed and is survived by his loving children, Stephanie (Freni) Everdean, Sharisse Freni, and Rocco C. Freni, former wife, Katy (Viarella) Freni, beloved brother, Louis "Sonny" Freni, and 3 granddaughters, Krystal, Gianna, and Ava. Along with his parents, he is pre-deceased by his brother, Stephen Freni.
A funeral mass for Rocky will take place at a later date.
