Our beloved Rocio was called to her Heavenly home on February 10, 2022, after a valiant battle with illness at the age of 60. Rocio was born on May 20, 1961, to Eleazar Ortega and Guadalupe Sandifor in Mexico City, Mexico.
Rocio is survived by her mother, Guadalupe; her husband, Juan Ruvalcaba, two daughters, Carla Garcia, and Grace Ruvalcaba; Three brothers, Miguel, Rodolfo, and Misael; Four sisters, Elizabeth, Lydie, Yvette, and Lucero; three grandchildren, Danielle, Michelle, and Zeke. Rocio was preceded in death by her father, Eleazar, her brother, David and her grandchildren, Naomi, and Angel.
Rocio was a teacher in her younger years, a skilled and talented seamstress, a wife, and mother. Later in life, she became a chaplain and visited prisons to spread the word of God.
Rocio was a loving, kind generous, strong faithful woman of God. She was a mother not only to her daughters, but to any child who needed her. She spent her days taking care of others. She gave meals to the hungry, provided clothing and shoes to children both here and in Mexico. One of Rocio's greatest gifts was her capacity to give. She led a group of sisters in Christ, who would go from home to home to spread the love of her Savior and to pray for those in need. To have Rocio Ruvalcaba pray over you was like being touched by the hand of God.
Rocio was the center of our family, the peacemaker, she was and still is a bright and shining light to guide those she left behind. If ever there was a pure Christian woman, a truly devoted daughter of the King, it was Rocio. We were privileged to experience her love and honored to call her Mom, Hija, Maca, Petra, Mami Tia, Lela and friend.
