Rocky Joe Simpson 53, of Ringgold, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. He spent most of his life in the Lookout Valley and Tiftonia area and was a Christian. Rocky was proud to be a truck driver as he had worked with Watkins and Sons, U. S. Express and Bennett Express. Most recently, while working with Bennett Express, he had the opportunity to haul aerospace equipment for Space X and Lockheed Martin. Those who knew Rocky will remember his ability to tell larger than life stories that often-left people laughing, as well as his willingness to speak his mind. He had a do it your self-way of thinking and enjoyed working on cars. In his free time, he enjoyed watching movies in theaters and trying recipes that he found on TikTok. His most cherished time was spent with his children and grandchildren. Rocky also enjoyed finding gifts for his grandchildren at Walmart.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Ray Simpson
He is survived by his children, Joseph Simpson, Wade Simpson, Morgan (Andrew) Krause, and Elijah (Jessi) Simpson; mother, Charolette Odonnell; sister, Allison Cauthorn; brother, Robert Simpson; grandchildren, Riley Krause, Aiden Krause, Carter Simpson, as well as one more on the way; close friends and coworkers, Mike Myers, Will Haymon, and Roland Ware.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with Roger Carnes officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
