Rod Eckerson Obituary
He had 2 brothers- Rufus and Norman. The family moved to Portland in 1941. He attended Washington High School and graduated from Lewis and Clark in 1953. He married LaVonna Ruth Rognlie in 1951 and they had 3 children- Michelle, Lisa and Scott. Rod was in the Army and served at 2 Rock Ranch in California.
He worked at the Port of Portland as a purchasing agent for 34 years. After the death of LaVonna, he met Micki Naito at jury duty and that was the beginning of what would be 22 sweet and wonderful years together. He loved researching the history of Oregon and Portland in particular. He was competitive runner for 30 years. He was a wonderful father and friend and will surely be missed by all who knew him.

My condolences to the Eckerson family.
In the 1980-1990's he and I were part of a lose knit group who ran together, participated in races and different events in Portland. I will forever remember the fun hours spent together. He will be sadly missed but the memories will live forever. Rest in peace Rod.
