Roderick Brown

It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of our beloved father, son, grandfather, nephew, cousin, and friend, Roderick Brown, who passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the age of 55 years.

Born on June 21, 1970, in Dallas, Texas. Roderick Brown was the son of the late Roy Brown, Susie Moore, and step-father Albert Moore.

Roderick graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas, Texas. Roderick worked for years on the campus of Southern Methodist University before he was paralyzed at the age of 25 years. So, the last 30 years he was handicapped.

He accepted Christ as His Savior at Gilbert Road Church of Christ at an early age. Later he worshipped with the Singing Hills congregation before he was unable to attend in person due to his illness.

His son Roderick, grandchildren Kalie, Keondria and Harlem and other family members were the joy of his life, spending as much quality time as he could with them. His other joys were being with friends and cars.

Roderik Brown was preceded in death by Roy Brown (father), Ralph Brown (brother), Ralph Allen and Bessie Allen (grandparents), Irene Brown (aunt), Johnny Johnson (uncle), Ronnie Brown (uncle), several cousins and friends.

Roderick leaves to cherish his memory: His mother Susie Moore, step-father Albert Moore, special friend Pamelon Coco, one son Roderick Simpson, three grandchildren Kalice, Keondria, Harlem, one brother LeRoy Brown, one aunt Etta Brown, three uncles Claude Turknett Sr., Henry Allen (Debra), Charles Johnson, and a host of loved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
