Roderick Zavier Goldsmith

Roderick Zavier Goldsmith passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022. Visitation is on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home (425 E Central Texas Expy, Harker Heights, Texas) with military honors and burial to follow at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State HWY 195, Killeen, Texas.
Roderick was born on May 1, 1985 to Deborah Ann Goldsmith in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating from Carolina High School, he went on to pursue one of his biggest achievements by serving in the US Army. Roderick continued his education at Central Texas College becoming both a truck driver and a medical technician. He was known for saying "God first! wife second, family, friends, neighbors cometh thereafter." Roderick and Jodi shared a beautiful marriage for 15 years, knowing he was in the ride of a lifetime. He was quick to lend a helping hand with a joyful heart to family and those in need. Roderick's smile could lift a strangers' spirit or anyone close to him. In his spare time, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, which is where he got his nickname "Peskadot" (Fisherman). He was a loyal Carolina Panthers fan who enjoyed grilling and smoking meat for game day, which was his specialty. "I don't eat pork, but I eat bacon!", was one of his many sayings in the kitchen. He is our jokester, our brother, a son, an uncle, and most especially a husband who will forever be loved, cherished and missed.
Roderick was preceded in death by his grandma "Nani" Athena Irby; his great grandma Eliza Gates; his momma Lee (Azalea Barksdale); his mother Deborah Goldsmith; his father in-law Julian San Nicolas Jr., and his pup Chance (Monster) Goldsmith.
He is survived by his wife, Jodi Ann Santos Goldsmith; his brothers, Kingsley Goldsmith, Quintin Goldsmith (Charlena), Alan Goldsmith and Fred Irby; his mother-In-Law, Denise (Vincent); his brothers-in-laws, Julian San Nicolas III (Kayla), Chaim Mendiola (Cierra); his sisters-in-law, Nicole Torres (Brian) and Faith Small (Von); his nieces and nephews: King, Keyon; Deshunte, Breyonna, Taniah, Naudia; A'ziya; Noah, Hailey, Josiah and Ajahlene.
