Rodger Lynn Gregory, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025, at his home in Gallatin, Tennessee. Born November 3, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Eugene Gregory and Edith Lankford Gregory.
After serving the automotive industry with distinction for over 40 years at Peterbilt Motors Company, Rodger retired, continuing to contribute to the community through his 15 years with the Gallatin City Parks Department. His commitment to his work and service to others left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
An ardent lover of sports, Rodger was particularly passionate about baseball. He dedicated much of his free time to coaching, imparting not only skills but also life lessons to young athletes in Hendersonville and Gallatin. He was involved with the American Legion Senior Little League and the American Legion Post 17 Summer League, fostering a love for the game and supporting the development of many players.
In addition to baseball, Rodger was a musician at heart, known for his talent on the drums. He enjoyed watching golf and other sports on television, often cheering for his favorite teams, especially the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Rodger’s love for sports was matched only by his love for his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Christopher Gregory; siblings Libby Crowder, Debbie Templeton, and Mark "Butch" Williams.
Rodger is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Evelyn "Diane" Gregory; his daughter, Cherl (Laurent) Cros; sons Chad (Lisa) Adcock and Troy Goad; and cherished grandchildren Lindsey (Jordan Estes) Lee, Gabrielle Cros, Hannah Gregory, Jaden Gregory, Junior Gregory, Hayes Fleming, Lawren Fleming, Copeland Fleming, Carter Adcock, Morgan (Josh) Green, and Hunter (Jordyn) Goad. He took great joy in his role as a grandfather, nurturing and guiding the next generations. Rodger was also a proud great-grandfather to Marcus, Isaiah, Rylee, Rylan, Rowen, Emery, Ella, Brynn, and Collier. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
