Rodger Pursifull Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 21, 2025.
Rodger Dean "Buck" Pursifull of Laurel passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2025, at the age of 72. Rodger was born on August 13, 1952, in Rushville, IN, the son of the late Elijah Pursifull and Lillian Richmond Pursifull.

On May 9, 1987, in Laurel, Buck was united in marriage to the former Mary Sue Judd. They shared 38 years of marriage prior to his death.

Buck was a jack of all trades that worked mainly in general contracting. When not working, you would find him relaxing at his favorite fishing spot, making wood carvings, or just out enjoying nature while walking through the woods. Though his hands were calloused from years of hard work, his heart remained tender and full of warmth for those that he loved.

His love and memories will be cherished by his wife, Sue; daughter Jeannie Pursifull; son, Craig (Amy Jo) Judd; a brother, Albert (Takara) Pursifull; a sister, Louise Peters; grandchildren, Traiely (Dakota) Keihn, Christian Judd, Lyla Fridley, Alli Pearson, Eli Pearson, Parker Hamer and Hannah Hamer; a great granddaughter, Nova Keihn, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin sister, Clora Jean Buchanan, sisters, Dora "Dee Dee" Smothers and Ruth Sparks; and his brothers, Carlis Pursifull, Saul Pursifull, Timothy Pursifull and Charlie Pursifull.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Urban Winkler Funeral Home is honored to assist Rodger's family with his arrangements.
