Rodney Baker Obituary
Rodney D. Baker, 89 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at his home. He was born May 28, 1936 in Tunnelton, PA, the son of the late Roy Baker and Florence (Dwyer) Baker. He had worked for Florence Mining Company for 15 years. He was a member of the VFW Post #5821 and the Blairsville Eagles #1488. He was a US Army Veteran from 1955-1958. He was an avid swimmer at YMCA for over 40 years and loved gardening.
Rodney is survived by his daughter, Michele Hart & husband, John, Latrobe, PA; daughter, Jacquie Baker, Indiana, PA; son, Greg Baker & wife Lisa, Blairsville, PA; grandchildren: Scottie Krouse and Lauren Baker; great grandchild, Brooklynn and brother, James Baker, New Alexandria, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Paul Baker and siblings: Roy Baker, Kenneth Baker, Gerald Baker, John Baker and JoAnn Enciso.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from Noon-4 PM. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM with Pastor Richard Motzing officiating. Blairsville Military Honor Guard & the US Army will conduct military services following the funeral service. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Rod's name to YMCA, 60 N. Ben Franklin Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
