Funeral services will be on Friday May 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, La with Bro. Jesse Moore officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Methodist Church in Minden. Visitation will be Thursday May 29, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Rose Neath in Minden.
Rodney was born on Christmas Day 1959 at Howard County Hospital in Big Spring, Tx to Tom and Marie Dooly. During his life, Rodney did everything from playing football, racing cars, farming, hunting and fishing, building houses and working for Chrysler to oilfield sales and eventually settling in to being an operator for Zachry at IP Mansfield.
Rodney was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie and Tom Dooley of Minden, La; his brother, Bobby Dooly of Texas, infant brother, Carl, of Texas and sister, Judy Rayner of Minden, La.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Davis of Monroe, La; daughter Tela Smith and husband Nathan of Ringgold, La; daughter Amanda Smith and husband Marcus of Haughton, La; son Thomas Dooly Jr of Sibley, La; stepson Billy Davis and wife Amanda of Louisiana, stepdaughter Nancy Hall and husband Kevin of Louisiana; brothers, Dan Dooly and Wife Lanea, Kinnith Dooly, Pat Dooly and wife Debbie, and Mike Dooly; sister, Kaye Scroggins and husband, Paul and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodney proudly had many grandchildren. Sela Malmay and husband Zack of Hall Summit, La; Destiny Fowler and husband Nick of Jamestown, La; Andrea McCoy and husband Dayton of Jamestown, La; Haleigh Smith and fiance Eloy Sosa of Minden, La; Noah Lincecum and wife Kaylee of Louisiana; Makayla Cox and Hunter of Louisiana; Joseph, Caleb, Thristion, Kayden, Devon, Ava, Gracelyn, Waylon, Katie, Dayton, Maddie and Brylie.
He also has 5 great-grandchildren, Trent, John Luke, Joshua, Braxton and Ellie.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Hammett, Zack Malmay, Eloy Sosa, Gary Tucker, Marcus Smith, and Shaun Coleman.
