Rodney Fluker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by S.M. Goodson Funeral Homes and Crematory - Talladega on Dec. 30, 2025.
Born on November 16, 1965, in Birmingham, Alabama, Rodney's life was a beautiful tapestry woven from love, dedication, and unyielding spirit.

Rodney was the son of Josephine F. Parker and Abraham Parker, later embraced wholeheartedly by his adoptive parents, Simon and Malinda Fluker. Raised in a nurturing environment, he discovered his passion for football at Pleasant Grove High School, where he shone as an exceptional athlete. His enthusiasm for the game continued through community football and softball, where he played with the Renegades, displaying both skill and camaraderie.

After high school, Rodney pursued his passion for craftsmanship, earning a degree in welding from Virginia College in Pelham, Alabama. His career took him to Honda Manufacturing of Alabama in Lincoln, Alabama, where he was not just an employee, but a respected lineman known for his tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence. Rodney's dedication to his work mirrored the steadfast love he offered to his family-a pillar of strength and support.

His spiritual journey led him to unite with New St. John Baptist Church and later to become a devoted member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Lincoln, Alabama. Under the guidance of Pastor Phillip Keith, Rodney found a community that uplifted him and allowed him to uplift others.

Rodney's love for his best friend and soulmate, Keshia L. Fluker, was a testament to the beauty of companionship-a vibrant dance of happiness, joking, and above all, faith in God. Their bond, forged in grace and companionship, served as a foundation of joy and support for their family. Together, they attended church and shared countless moments filled with love and devotion.

As time winds its course, we look ahead to a future where Rodney's spirit transcends this earthly realm, as he embarks on his journey towards eternal peace. On Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the age of 60, Rodney Fluker, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend traded his earthly home for eternal rest reuniting with his parents, Josephine F. Parker and Abraham Parker and Simon and Malinda Fluker. The warmth of his smile, the kindness in his heart, and the lessons he imparted will forever resonate in the lives he touched.

Rodney is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Keshia L. Fluker, and a family that was his pride and joy. His legacy lives on through his son, Rodney Fluker, Jr. (Aldria); He adored his grandchildren, Audrie, Rodney Jace, Brooklyn, Lauryn, Leah, Lyvia, and Lydia, who brought light and laughter into his life.

He is also survived by his siblings: Vincent Fluker (Kathryn), Morris Scott III (Cassie), Libra Scott, and Lashunda Sellers (William); special daughters, Tonia Fomby and Megan D. Fomby; bonus son, Rolyn (Monique) Pearson; bonus daughter, Keyauna McKenzie; bonus sister, Cynthia Fomby; and others who cherished him dearly. In addition, he leaves behind his aunts, Kathleen King and Patricia Farley; uncle, George R. Fluker; bonus aunts, Mary Sampler, Faye Welch, and Carolyn Chandler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Horace (Anita) Weathers, Carl (April) Littles, Mario McDaniel, Mr. and Mrs. Imari (LaShandra) Mackey, and Staci Cooley; extended family, Ricky Vaughn (Tiffany) and Rico Vaughn (Kayla); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth.

Rodney Fluker will be remembered fondly for his infectious spirit, his love for family, and his unwavering faith. His life, though cut short, was one of profound meaning and connection.
