Rodney (Rod) Wayne Hall, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully at his home in Seattle, WA on January 31, 2026, after a long battle with COPD. He spent his final days overlooking Puget Sound, listening to Jimmy Buffet, surrounded by family. Rod was born in Marion, IN, on February 4, 1950, to Wayne and Frances (Herring) Hall.
Rod graduated from Indiana University Kelly School of Business with a degree in accounting. He was the High-Grade winner the year he took the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Exam. His most recent professional endeavor was in forensic accounting for bankruptcy trustees.
Rod loved all things Indiana University. He was ecstatic to watch IU's football team win the national championship this year. He also loved IU basketball and enjoyed watching them compete for the national title each year during March Madness. He continued his love of basketball by coaching the St. Luke Cadet A Girls Basketball team for over 15 years.
Rod was also very proud of achieving Eagle Scout status.
Rod leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Mary Beth (Huse), daughters, Jessica and Kelly (Andrew Cronholm), son, Nicholas (Carolyn Commons), three granddaughters, one grandson, and his sister, Diana (Steven Simons). He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason.
Services for Rod were private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeler Mission or Gleanors Food Bank.
