Rodney Lee James

Obituary
In the late evening of August 14, 2023, the Lord called home our husband, father, son and brother Rodney Lee James.
Born on February 21, 1975 in Paterson New Jersey to Elijah and Alcora James, He moved with his family to North Carolina in 1988 and called it home. It was here that he met, fell in love with and married his high school sweetheart Catina. This union resulted in two children, Sabrina a recent graduate of Western Carolina University (Cum Laude) and Caleb a current freshman at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. To say Rodney was proud of his family is an understatement.
Rodney was in the employ VF Corporation and recently completed his bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies in 2022 and was pursuing his masters. He was a former member of Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the trustee board. After getting married and moving to Burlington he became a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ where he served in the media ministry and in any area that he was needed. Rodney was known for his kind, loving and helpful nature. Surely heaven's gain is our loss.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife: Catina James; a daughter Sabrina Nicole James; a son Caleb Alexander James; his parents Elijah and Alcora James; a sister Tonya (David) Jackson; a brother-in-law H. Jermaine Dunn; his in-laws Herbert (Dale) Dunn; a nephew Joshua Jackson; half-sister: Barbara Brown and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
