Marian Scales Isley

Marian Elizabeth Scales Isley, 94, of High Point, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at High Point Medical Center.

Born January 19, 1931, to the late Samuel Dalton Scales and late Lena Blanche Boyles, Marian worked as a beautician before marrying James Elwood Isley on September 1, 1951. She devoted her life to her family, raising her children in the Christian faith and caring for them with love and dedication. Marian also enjoyed gardening, sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends, and was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elwood Isley; sister, Nancy Staples; and brothers, Joseph, Percy, Robert, and Samuel "Sammie" Scales.

Marian is survived by her children, Eddie Isley and Joanie Isley (and husband Lee); grandchildren, Logan Elizabeth, Cameron Brooks Isley, Kalen Marie Isley, Kelsi Heilig Grace (and husband Stephen), Kinley Alaina Grace, and Mya-Kate Grace; and brother, Phil Scales (and wife Janet).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the High Point Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, with Reverend John Stien officiating.

Committal will follow at Bellemont Methodist Church Cemetery, 4039 Markwood Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
