Donald Harold Boyd

Don Boyd, age 87 of High Point passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2025 at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was born in Richmond, VA on May 2nd, 1938, a son of the late Harold Bradley Boyd and Margaret May Boyd. He was a member of Emerywood Baptist Church in High Point, NC Don worked in the Litton Industries Office Furniture companies Data Safe Records Management Company, and Brandywine Envelope Corp before retirement.

Don is survived by his wife Margie of 68 years, whom he married in 1957, a son Daron Boyd, (Brenda) and his granddaughter Sara Boyd. He also had two sisters, Bonnie Powell who preceded him in death, and Yarna Boyd of Northern Virginia. Don has numerous family members in and around the state of Virginia. He was an avid golfer, loved fishing, a sportsman, any related outdoor sports and The High Point Gin Club. He attended Fork Union Military Academy, Benedictine College, and the University of Richmond and grew up in Richmond and various other places. He enjoyed all kinds of sports and competitions. Don was known as a very good baseball player and played in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He also loved golf and made many golfing friends "the best thing about golf is the people you meet." Don lived by "Tomorrow is Promised to No One" and "I do not have as much as some, but I have what I need, I have great family, great friends, what else is there."

Memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, November 16, 2025 in the sanctuary of Emerywood Baptist Church with the Reverend Justin Cox and the Reverend CW Moss officiating. The adult III Sunday School will be honorary pallbearers. The family will greet friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be given to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or the House of Prayer, 103 Hoskins Street, High Point, NC 27260.
