Rodney L. Manges, 68, of Bethlehem passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Born on August 10, 1957 in Landstuhl, Germany, the son of the late Cathaline (Nunemaker) and Edgar Lynn Manges, Jr. He was the loving and devoted husband of Carol A. King Manges, and an amazing father to his daughter Chrystal (Manges) Knowles and son-in-law Johnny Knowles, whom he cared for like his own.
Rodney lived his life with a generous spirit, quick hands, and an even quicker wit. He never passed up the chance to make someone laugh, and his perfectly timed sarcasm could turn even an ordinary moment into one that family and friends would remember forever. He had a passion for cooking, pouring love into every meal and finding joy in bringing people together through his food. Known for being able to fix just about anything, he was endlessly curious and self-taught-never afraid to learn something new. Helping others wasn't just something he did; it was a part of who he was.
He found simple pleasures in playing his daily lottery numbers and shooting a good game of pool. A familiar and welcomed presence at the Westside Republican Club and the Rosemont Firehouse, Rodney enjoyed the fellowship of friends and the comfort of time spent with Carol by his side. He adored his wife and daughter deeply, creating many unforgettable memories-spontaneous trips, countless rock concerts, and shared moments that will be treasured forever. His bond with Johnny grew through fixing things together and the easy camaraderie they shared. Rodney also had a special place in his heart for his cat, Molly, lovingly known as his "Molly Baby."
Rodney will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Carol; his daughter, Chrystal, and son-in-law, Johnny; his brothers, Edgar Manges, III and Shawn Manges; his sisters, Cindy Harr, Carmel Whetstone, and Bobbi-Jo Manges; and his many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St.Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org
