Rodney E. "Rod" Meier

Rodney E. "Rod" Meier, age 69, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital.

Born on July 28, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa, Rod was the beloved son of Delmar and Dorothy Meier. On October 6, 1999, he married Ronda Dau, and they shared 26 wonderful years of marriage.

Rod retired from Arconic (formerly Alcoa Inc.), where he worked in the shipping and receiving department. He worked part-time in construction and volunteered to work for Habitat for Humanity. He was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying bicycling, traveling, and participating in community events. He cherished time spent with his family, whether it was sharing stories around the dinner table or exploring new places

together.

Rod's adventurous spirit shone through his love of motorcycles and rides in his jeep, often accompanied by the sounds of his favorite rock and roll music. Growing up, Rod was active in Boy Scouts, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and created lasting memories on campouts with friends. These experiences shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for camaraderie.

Rod is survived by his loving wife, Ronda; his mother, Dorothy Meier of Davenport, Iowa; his sister, Ranae Roca of Henderson, Nevada; his brother, Ross, and sister-in-law Lorraine Meier of Bettendorf, Iowa; as well as his niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 2003 and his father-in-law, Ronald Dau, in 2023.

Rod will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, and his zest for life. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by those who knew him-his laughter during family gatherings, his encouragement on long bike rides, his joy on the open road, and his stories from campouts under the stars.
