Rodney Nogosek, 66, Minot, ND, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at his home.
Rod was born February 5, 1956, the son of Richard and Peggy (Coffey) Nogosek. He was raised and educated in Minot, ND. He enjoyed Cub Scouts, hunting, fishing, and playing by the river in his childhood. He graduated from Minot High School in 1974. Rod got his first Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota in Journalism and his second Bachelor of Science degree from Minot State University in Addiction Studies.
He started his career in photojournalism. He later became a licensed addiction counselor at Trinity Hospital where he was currently working.
Rod married Lynn Keuter in 1980. They made their home in Omaha, NE. The couple later seperated and Rod moved back to Minot in 2010.
Rod was a loving Father to Aunna, and he proudly was able to recently accompany her down the aisle for her wedding. Overcoming addiction himself led him to pursue his career as a licensed addiction counselor. He took great pride in giving back to those in need of guidance and support. He was also an accomplished photographer who had an eye for capturing nature's beauty.
He was a member of New Life Jail Ministries and The National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
He enjoyed photography, bike riding, fishing, hockey, NASCAR, working out, and was a lover of music. Rod has a strong Christian faith and enjoyed reading the bible and attending services at First Baptist Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his friends at Trinity Health.
His loving family includes:
mother, Peggy, Des Lacs;
daughter, Aunna (Andrew) Montgomery, Tallahassee, FL;
brother, Randy (Kathy) Nogosek, Minot;
sisters, Kristy (Scott) Hamel and Kathi (Harald) Kohlhoff, both of Des Lacs;
and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; sister, Kelly Sharpe; brother, Ricky.
