Rodolfo Olivarez Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 13, 2024, in Pearsall at the age of 79. Born on January 6, 1945, in Dilley, Texas, Rodolfo was a man whose life was defined by his unwavering love for family and his deep-rooted commitment to community. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Oscar Olivarez and Armando Olivarez.
Rodolfo is survived by his devoted wife, Cruz Gomez Olivarez. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and cherished memories. Their union brought forth four wonderful children: Rodolfo Jr. (Elva), Joanna Olivarez, Cynthia Olivarez (Wendell Daniels Sr.), and Omar Olivarez. Each child carries forward the values he instilled-hard work, kindness, and an enduring sense of loyalty.
As a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren-Justin Olivarez; Jonathan Olivarez; Julian Olivarez; Jada Olivarez; Cristian Diaz; Nadia Daniels; Aidan Daniels; and Jo'Mari Olivarez-he found immense joy in their accomplishments and milestones. His legacy continues through three great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Jayven. Alyxia and
Jennassey. Rodolfo's siblings-Saul Olivarez; Elvia Elizondo; and Hermelinda Rodriguez
Though words cannot fully capture the essence of Rodolfo's character or convey how much he meant to all who knew him-it is clear that he leaves behind not just memories but also lessons about love that transcend time itself.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dilley. Visitation start time is 9am, rosary will begin at 10am followed by funeral mass at 11am. Interment will follow to the Dilley Cemetery.
He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten-a guiding light whose spirit will continue shining brightly through each member of this remarkable family whom he loved so dearly.
