Roger Baize Obituary

Roger Eric Baize, 58, of Radcliff, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at U of L Hospital with his family by his side.

Eric loved life, music, spending time with family and friends and having a good time. Eric was in a wreck that left him disabled in his early 20s. In all the years he lived in pain not once did the thought of giving up ever enter his mind. No matter how grim the situation was, if there was a silver lining to be found Eric found it.

Eric was born Dec. 20, 1966, to Roger Dale Baize and Sherlene SanNicolas in Louisville.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shelby and Eva Hash and Estill and Gracie Baize; his father, Roger Dale Baize; and three nephews, Stephen Stribling, Nick Sutton and Shane Sutton. Eric loved all his nieces and nephews, but held a special place in his heart for Nick.

Eric is survived by his mother, Sherlene SanNicolas; his stepfather, Ricardo SanNicolas; three sisters, Sherry (Jody) Baize, Donna (Jerry) Boggs and Melissa Kirby; a brother, Darryl Baize; five nieces, Shyla Wood, Victoria Kirby, Nefertiti Davis, Truth Kirby and Savana Goober; five nephews, Shelby (Leslie) Gosnell, Dustin Floyd, Jahia Davis, Jenny Branham and Sara Bloyd; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
