Roger Dale Blackburn, 74 of Clay passed away on March 3, 2025 at his home. Roger was born in Sullivan, KY on May 4, 1950 to the late Charles and Evelyn Blackburn. He was in The U.S. Marines and served in The Vietnam War. He owned and operated Blackburn Electric for many years. Roger worked at Pyro Mines in the electrical shop for over 32 years and later retired from Alliance central shop. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 2 brothers Charles and Jerry Blackburn.
Survivors include 1 daughter Clara Vanover of Madisonville, 4 sons Mark Blackburn(Shannon) of Morganfield, Vinson Blackburn(Erin) of Blackford, Johnathan Blackburn(Brande) of Clay, Michael Joe Blackburn(Shana) of Clay, sister-in-law Ruby Blackburn, 13 grandchildren Lacy J. Blackburn(Alec), Amanda Jean Blackburn, Kolbi Lynn Blackburn, Jaylin Blackburn, Seth Blackburn, Paige Blackburn, Reece Blackburn, Jacob Dale Blackburn, Aden Winn(Savannah), Kyla Blackburn, Elin Blackburn, Gavin Vanover, Brynlee Vanover, 6 great grandchildren Mateo Blackburn, Tino Blackburn, Maggie Hendrickson, Aniyah Winn, Namari Winn, Zamira Winn and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday March 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Vanover Funeral Home with Brother Jason Buckman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Clay. Visitation will be Friday March 7, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 8:00 AM till service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to Oak Grove Cemetery in C/O Tracy Robertson 105 State Route 143 North Clay, KY 42404
