Roger Cahoon Obituary

Roger Donald Cahoon, age 64, of Lowell, Michigan, passed away on April 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 21, 1960, Roger was known for his kindness, quick wit and sense of humor. His story was deeply interwoven with his hometown and the community that shaped him-and that he, in turn, helped shape.

Roger had a genuinely caring heart and a well-meaning spirit. A proud father, loyal friend, and steady presence, Roger held a deep affection for Lowell, and his appreciation for the town showed in many aspects of his life. He was a fixture at his family's restaurant, Keiser's Kitchen, where his lifelong commitment helped create a warm, welcoming space for generations of locals and visitors alike. He loved his hometown and its people immensely, always willing to lend a helping hand to those going through tough times. He often gave more than he had to offer, and his compassion left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Roger loved visiting the casino, took great pride in his car, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life and friendships built on authenticity and trust. He was the kind of friend who would listen without judgment and offer support without hesitation - someone who valued real connections above all else. As one close friend shared, "What you saw is what you got. He was a regular person, genuine to the core, and I will miss him forever."

He is lovingly remembered by his companion, Sherrie Stevens; his daughters, Casey (Joshua) Getter, Kendal Cahoon, and Mariah May; his son, Patrick (Nichole) Dorsey; his beloved granddaughters, Callie Dorsey, Katelyn Cook, Olivia Getter, and Ellie Getter; his sister-in-law, Trudy Cahoon; his brother-in-law Dennis West; and many of his nieces and nephews. His legacy of kindness, strength, and connection lives on through them and all who were blessed to call him a friend.

Roger was preceded in death by his father Bob (Margi) Cahoon; his mother Darlene (Doc) Westcott; his brother Blair Cahoon; and his sister Chris West.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and again from 6:00–8:00 PM at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson Street, Lowell, Michigan. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Roth-Gerst Chapel, with a private family visitation preceding the service. A luncheon will take place afterwards at Ada Bible Church Cascade Campus, 8899 Cascade Road SE, Ada, Michigan 49301.

May Roger's memory continue to inspire love, generosity, and community-the same values he lived by each day.

So sorry to hear of Roger´s passing. Will not be the same at Keiser´s without him teasing me.
Sadly, I was laid up with my back and unable to attend the service or visitation. Lowell lost one of their good guys.
