Roger G. Chandler age 82, died on Sunday, December 7, 2025. A native of Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late O. William Chandler and Margaret Trammell Chandler.
Mr. Chandler was an academic honors graduate of Furman University where he received a B.A. degree in Economics and Business Administration and the University of South Carolina Law School where he received his Juris Doctor degree with emphasis on corporate, commercial, financial and banking law. He was a retired lawyer and entrepreneur/businessman.
Formerly, he was a partner with the law firm Robinson, McFadden, Moore and Pope in Columbia, SC, Associate General Counsel and Vice President of the South Carolina National Bank, where he had legal responsibility for all commercial lending and served as Counsel to the Executive Credit Committee. Prior to his retirement, he also practiced labor and employment litigation representing corporate management and various governmental entities throughout the state of South Carolina. He was a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and admitted to practice before all South Carolina state and federal courts and the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Based upon his ethics and abilities as a lawyer, he was awarded and rated by peers AV (Preeminent).
He was also a cofounder of Greenville Office Supply, Inc. (GOS), one of the largest office product dealers in South Carolina.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, a former member of the Greenville Country Club and a former charter member of the Greenville Commerce Club.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret W. (Peggy) Chandler of Greenville, SC, his beloved daughter, Meredith Chandler LeCroy; son-in-law, Bradley J. LeCroy; and grandsons, Crew Chandler LeCroy and Cooper Bradley LeCroy, all of Lynchburg, Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers.
Services will be private with viewing only by family members.
