Roger Dale Cook Sr.

Roger Dale Cook, Sr., 78, of Gastonia, passed away at Atrium Health Lincoln on March 22, 2022. He was born November 17, 1943, in Gaston County, to the late James Vernon and Maudie Hamby Cook.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Bennie Sue McClendon.
Roger was retired from Baco Machine Company after 28 years, a member of the Firestone Wesleyan Church, Gastonia and was active with the Wesleyan Men. He enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his grandkids. Roger loved the Lord and was known for helping anyone in need. He was a wonderful father and instilled the same sense of servanthood in his children.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Libby Cook; children, Roger Dale Cook, Jr. (Jodie), and Melissa Franklin (Jo D); stepchildren, Richard Thomas Beam (Stephanie), and Eddie Albert "EJ" Beam, II; sister, Teresa Carpenter; grandchildren, Hillary Cook (Ryan Foreman), Bailey Cook (Makayla), and Gabby Franklin; step-grandchildren, Dylan Beam and Grace Beam.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Firestone Wesleyan Church on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Roger's funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Firestone Wesleyan Church with Rev. Don Avore officiating.
Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
