Roger Dale Essick

Mr. Roger Dale Essick, age 74, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. Mr. Essick was born in Forsyth County on June 9, 1951, to the late Johnny Lewis Essick and Delmon Hazel Smith Essick. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. Essick was a longtime tobacco farmer, instilling hard work and dedication truly meant. Left to cherish his memories are is loving wife, Elizabeth Niten Essick; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Essick-Xolo and Manuel; son, Roger Dale Essick, Jr.; grandchildren and their spouses, Jesse Parker, Ashlyn Parker and Cody Willard, Emily Parker, Gracie Essick, Rosaelia Essick-Xolo; great-grandchildren, Caden James Parker, Mason Taylor Parker, Teigan Michael Brannock, Ave Marie Beamon; sisters, Mildred Essick, Nancy Gallant, Ruth Gordon, Sylvia Sisk; special friends, Ray Epperson, Austin “the neighbor”. In addition to his parents, Mr. Essick was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Shelton; brother, June Essick. Per Mr. Essicks’ request, there will be no formal services. The family will hold a celebration of life at the family home on November 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Moody's of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Essick family.
