Roger Lee Gatlin of Calera, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on March 16, 1952, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Clara Rosetta (Pittman) and James Thomas Gatlin.
A longtime resident of Calera, Roger was a proud member of the Choctaw Tribe. He married Judith Gail (Barkley) on January 7, 1972, in Durant, Oklahoma.
Roger had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time tinkering in the garage, with his latest project being his fishing boat. Always active and on the go, Roger was a regular at Sherrer's and Wright's Drive-In, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Rosetta (Pittman) and James Thomas Gatlin; his brother, Stan Gatlin; his sister, Claretta Gatlin; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Floyd.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy, of the home; his son, Stacy Gatlin and wife Lacey of Durant, Oklahoma; his daughter, Michelle Burgess of Durant, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Alexis Wood and husband Harrison, RaeLeigh Gatlin and Ryan Vanzandt, Tyler Burgess, and Gracey Gatlin; his sister, LaNesa Floyd of Durant, Oklahoma; as well as close friends Tim Kranny, Terry Hutchings, Ronnie Barkley, Leonard Wallace, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at The Gordon Center, 305 N. 2nd Ave., Durant, Oklahoma.
