Roger Glen Holbert

Roger Holbert age 66 of Maryville passed away January 11,2026 at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville from pancreatitis. He was born in Jefferson City and raised in south Knoxville. He was brought up in the Baptist faith and loved to play his guitar mandolin and harmonica. He loved to fish, loved the outdoors and loved to hike in the smokey Mountains. Roger retired from 20 years with Hickory Construction. He was so very proud of their home on 4 acres in the country where he fed the birds and squirrels and helped with Gena's many flower beds. He was greatly loved by family and friends. He is survived by wife Gena Holbert of 35 years, stepson: Javan Schiferl. He had many friends who will miss his flashing smile Vera Byrd and Roger shared the same birthday and year they were like brother and sister. Other family members Cousin Cyndi Frech, Jeff (Missy) France. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all his many friends and cousins who have shown their love and concern through his illness. Family and friends, we will be celebrating the life of Roger Holbert sometime in the spring. The family will post dates and time on facebook.
