Roger Huff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hackman Family Funeral Homes - Hackman Chapel on Dec. 8, 2025.
Roger Lewis Huff, age 77, of Bronson, Michigan, passed away at home on December 1, 2025.
He was born on December 11, 1947, the son of Arlo and Arlie (Rathburn) Huff. Roger grew up on the family farm in Bronson, MI, where he developed his lifelong love of the land and hard work.
Roger was a quiet, hard-working, and stubborn man who faced life in his own way. He loved fishing and hunting and was known for always having a freezer full of local game. When he was no longer able to hunt, neighbors and friends made sure his freezer stayed full.
He spent countless hours working on his International H tractor, which he proudly trailered to Mackinaw City to take part in the Antique Mackinaw Bridge Crossing. He was a member of a tractor club in the Kalamazoo area and truly enjoyed anything related to antique tractors.
Roger worked for over 30 years at the Branch County Road Commission, where he made many lifelong friendships with his coworkers.
He was an avid bowler from 1969 to 2002, earning many trophies and winning many championships during his earlier years. He also had a deep love for auto racing of all kinds. In 2012 alone, he traveled to attend 91 auto races, following the sprint car circuit and other racing events.
Roger enjoyed playing cards and often traveled to different towns to play in bid euchre tournaments. He was also well known for making his delicious sun jar pickles.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Huff of Sturgis, MI, and Rod (Melissa) Huff of Limestone, TN; his grandchildren, Madeleine Huff of Alabama and Tyler Huff of Tennessee; his brother, Leland (Karen) Huff of Coldwater, MI; and his loving cat, Fluffy.
In honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial donations would be appreciated to the charity of ones own choice.
