Roger Paul Jacob, 72 of Frankfort, formerly Park Forest, passed away of cancer suddenly on Feb. 25, 2024. Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Cathy Gliottoni. Sister, Marilyn (Rob) Robertson of Westminster, CO; brother-in-law of: Pat (Dennis) Derfiny, Cynthia (Jim) Wheeler, Jim (Melissa) Gliottoni, Sue (Jeff) Hunt, Joe Sanfratello and J.C. Hirsch. Beloved Uncle of 14 nieces and nephews and 22 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Jeanie Jacob, in-laws Andy and Helen Gliottoni and dear sister-in-law, Sally Sanfratello. Roger was a licensed surveyor last employed with Chicagoland Survey. He was an avid supporter of the students at Bloom High School and his many nieces and nephews in all of their interests and sports. A lifelong learner, Roger loved to travel with his wife, family and friends. He had lived in Taiwan where he taught English, visited all U.S. 50 states, almost all National Parks, the 50 largest populated cities and 37 U.S. capitals. He was passionate about music, especially Frank Zappa and Jeff Beck and attended Woodstock in his youth. One of Roger’s greatest joys was time spent in nature fly fishing. A visitation will be held on Sun. March 3, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Mon. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423.
