Roger Lee Johnson

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Lee Johnson, affectionately known as RJ, a cherished lifelong resident of Bridgeport, who departed this world on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at the tender age of 34.
Born on July 29, 1990, RJ was a devoted father to his three beloved children, Jayceon, Ryan, and Harmony. His love and dedication to his family knew no bounds. RJ also held the role of a loving uncle to three nephews and two nieces, always showing a deep and abiding affection for his family. RJ attended Central High School, where he played basketball.
He was known for his infectious smile and welcoming mannerisms, traits that endeared him to his friends and family.
RJ enjoyed mentoring his younger cousins and his favorite thing to do was to cook out for family gatherings. His presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering, making memories that his loved ones will cherish forever.
Professionally, RJ found fulfillment as a security guard, a role he genuinely enjoyed. His dedication and passion for his work were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him. RJ's commitment to his job was surpassed only by his commitment to his family and friends.
RJ leaves behind his birth mother, Donna Jones, and his two devoted sisters, Tina Lozada and Sheena Simmons-Williams. He is also survived by two uncles: Henry Jones and Raymond Jones, an aunt, Tammie Jones, and the Johnson family. RJ was predeceased by his Grandmother Unice Raiford Jones, Grandfather Roger Jones Sr., uncle Roger Jones Jr., and cousin Rogerlyna Jones. RJ's extended family includes six first cousins: Tiny, Henry, Roxanne, Raquel, Roger II, along with many second cousins who will remember him fondly. Each of them carries a piece of RJ's spirit, and his memory will continue to live on through them.
RJ's legacy is one of boundless love, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. His big smile and welcoming presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His gentle touch and kind heart left an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing him. May RJ's soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all. In our hearts, he will remain forever loved and eternally missed.
