Obituary of Roger J. Knowles
Roger J. Knowles born November 1, 1954 went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2022. Right after graduating from Bath Haverling High School he worked for the Town of Bath Highway Department for 38 years until his retirement. After retiring he went back to work at the Avoca Central School as a Bus Driver for three years and then became the Superintendent of the Avoca Highway Department for four years, ultimately retiring and moving with his wife Amy, to Chandler, Oklahoma. Roger loved to camp, hunt, travel, meet people and enjoy our beautiful country. Roger had coached for many youth sports organizations when his children were young. Roger was elected as a Town of Bath Councilman for more than one term. Roger held offices in many fraternal organizations such as; Masonic Order, OES, Order of Amaranth, NYS Grange, Bath B.P.O.E. 1547, SAL Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 and the Legion Riders. He also volunteered with the Kanona Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife Amy Kelly-Knowles, brother Gerald Knowles of Bath, NY; children, Dan (Janean) Knowles, Jamie (Lori) Knowles, Mike (Cindy) Knowles all of Bath, NY, Tracy (Tobin) Price of NE and Wendy (Chris) Patrick of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Brendan, Caleb, Sarah, Kevin, Matthew, Victoria, Hannah, Chyanne, Brandon, Drew, Kerrynn, Andrew, Morgan, Caydence, Alyssa, Isabella, Brodie and Mason; great grandchildren, Madalynn and Raven and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Winton Knowles, mother Gloria Cooke Knowles, sister Jane Geyer and brother Preston Knowles.
Visitation will be held at the Campbell United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 11:00-12:30 followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 12:30. Burial will be private in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath, NY.
