Roger Dale Lamb, age 70, of Joelton, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at TriStar Skyline in Nashville, Tennessee on October 9th, 2023. Roger was born to parents Grover and Hester Lamb, on December 24th, 1952, in Trousdale County, Tennessee. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Grover and Hester Lamb, his wife Barbara Lamb, brother-in-law Leonard “Bubba” Schutt, granddaughter Kelsea Lamb, and grandson DJ Newcomb. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Kathy) Lamb, Terry (Susan) Burch, Teresa (Rich) Courtney, and Steve (Susan) Burch. Roger is also survived by his grandchildren, Haylee (Zack) Nelson, Shelby (Allen) Goodfred, Emily (Zach) Scott, Lara Courtney, Shelby (Landen) Hamlin, Kala (Jim) Sorrells, and Cody Burch, as well as two great grandchildren, Eli Lamb and Benji Hamlin. Roger is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Roger Lamb was said to have been a loving and affectionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who were lucky enough to know him. He was a hard worker and stayed with the Kerry-Campbell Construction Company for 30+ years. He was known to be hardheaded and stuck in his ways and he loved getting on the nerves of his family and friends in the best way possible. He always wanted the best for his family. He took pride in his children and grandchildren and followed them throughout all of life’s ups and downs. He was a mentor and coach to his kids, not just in life, but in football as well! He was fond of watching them play sports and following their extracurricular activities and would do anything for them.
In his free time, Roger enjoyed watching television and movies. He has a great love for John Wayne and anything having to do with westerns, cowboys, and Indians. He was known to have an extensive collection of Native American and Cherokee Indian novelties and décor. When he wasn’t inside watching reruns that he had claimed to never have seen before, he was an avid outdoorsman. Spending time in the great outdoors fishing and camping was something that he was very fond of.
Although Roger may no longer be present with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul find eternal peace, and his memory forever bring comfort, warmth, and inspiration to us all.
