Charles Lamb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by LR Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Feb. 11, 2026.
Charles Anthony Lamb, age 89, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2026. Born on April 7, 1936, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Phyllis M. Palladino and Elmer E. Lamb.

A 1954 graduate of Eastern High School in Washington, D.C., Charles began his life's journey with a commitment to service and family. In November 1954, he married his high-school sweetheart Barbara Six. Barbara preceded him in death in 2013.

Charles was a member of the U.S. Marine Reserves.

Charles's professional life was marked by both public service and an entrepreneurial spirit. He began his career with the Army Map Service followed by various U.S. government agencies before becoming a business owner. In the early 1980's, he founded Business Forms Management Systems (BFMS), successfully navigating the evolving landscape of desktop publishing and leading the company for more than two decades.

Beyond his professional achievements, Charles was a true artist. A lifelong painter, illustrator, and fiction writer, he viewed the world through a creative lens. This passion remained a vibrant part of his daily life long after his retirement, as he continued to produce work that reflected his unique perspective and imagination.

After retiring, Charles lived in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, before relocating to Campbellsville, Kentucky in 2013.

His legacy of creativity and dedication lives on through his five children: Karen (Dan) Simmons, Charles (Becky) Lamb II, Stephen (Renee) Lamb, Marcia (Paul) Gilbert, and Robert (Chrissy) Lamb. He was "Grandaddy" to 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
