Roger Dale Marks, age 63, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle, North Carolina. Born on August 30, 1962, in Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina, Roger was the beloved son of Louise Hurley and the late Alton Keith Marks.
Roger received his formal education at Southwest Randolph High School in Asheboro, NC. Following his education, he dedicated over three decades of his life to his work as a roofer, where he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship.
In his personal life, Roger found joy in the simple pleasures of fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy peaceful moments.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, Alton Keith Marks, and his brother, Tom Marks. He is survived by his brother, Randy Marks, and Randy’s partner, Donnie Kirkman; his children, Amanda Adele and Dakota Marks; his mother, Louise Hurley; his girlfriend, Jennifer McLendon; and his stepchildren, Ben and Roger McLendon. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his son, Alton River Creek Marks. Roger also leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren and many dear cousins.
A memorial service to honor Roger's life will be held at a later date. His family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of a man who was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
