Roger Matthess Obituary
Roger Lee Matthess, 68, of Chester passed at the Weirton Medical Center on Friday, May 20, 2022, after becoming suddenly ill at his home.
Born in New Martinsville, West Virginia on November 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Ray Fiber, and Dora Matthess Fiber.
Roger was a retired mechanic for Linde Industrial Gasses, and he was a Christian by faith. Also, he was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
Along with his parents, one grandson, Jack Matthess preceded him in death.
Roger leaves his wife, Connie Sue Henderson Matthess, his sons, Duane (Tanya Reitter of Weirton, and James (Cheri) Matthess of Chester, five grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell on Monday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow. Friends may visit with the family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
