On Saturday, September 13th, 2025, Roger N. Maxfield Jr. went home to be with his Lord.
He was a loving husband and father, and he is survived by his wife Julie N. Maxfield and his son Roger N. Maxfield III, "Trip."
He obtained his associate’s degree from Newbury College. He spent the majority of his career working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a job specialist, where he helped people to find work until he retired in 2015. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the drums and served as a drummer for several churches. He had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, and enjoyed any and all conversation about the Bible or the drums.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
